N.Y. county to sue pharmaceutical makers over their part in opioid epidemic

Representatives of Erie County say 11 pharmaceutical manufacturers — including two from the Philadelphia area, Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. and Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. — misled doctors and patients into believing that opioid painkillers were not addictive, so they are filing a lawsuit against the drug makers for contributing to the national and local opioid abuse epidemic.
